Su She (苏涉, Shè), courtesy name Su Minshan (苏悯善, Mǐnshàn), is the leader of the Moling Su Clan. A former peripheral disciple of the Gusu Lan Clan, Su She leaves the Lan Clan to establish his own.[1]

Appearance[]

Su She is described as handsome in an unspectacular way, with slender eyes, fine brows, and thin lips. The Moling Su Clan wears white robes, much like the Gusu Lan Clan.[2]

Personality[]

Su She seems to suffer from a deeply-held inferiority complex, which leads him to lash out at others.

He is extremely resentful of those who make him feel inferior, as evidenced by his disgust towards both Lan Wangji and Jin Zixun. However, his resentment towards Lan Wangji may stem from misdirected self-hatred. As teenagers, Lan Wangji protects Mianmian from becoming bait for the Xuanwu of Slaughter despite Wen Chao's orders, while Su She attempts to drag her out to be sacrificed once his life is threatened.[3] Given that Su She copies the mannerisms and techniques of Lan Wangji later in life, his anger towards Lan Wangji may be motivated more by self-hatred than anything else.[1]

In contrast, Su She displays a vengeful and hateful side towards Jin Zixun, who bullied Su She.[4] Eventually, Su She retaliates by cursing Jin Zixun with the Thousand Sores and Hundred Holes Curse, inadvertently setting off the events that lead to Wei Wuxian's downfall. After the matter, he shows no remorse, angrily declaring that “Those as arrogant as him—I’ll kill every single one who comes my way!”[5]

However, while his resentment runs deep, so does his loyalty towards those who showed him kindness. Su She is ruthlessly devoted to Jin Guangyao, simply for remembering his name.[6] For Jin Guangyao, he is willing to help hide Nie Mingjue's body parts[7] and use his own disciples to seal the spiritual power of the other clans during the Second Siege of the Burial Mounds, leaving much of the cultivation world defenseless against an onslaught of Fierce Corpses.[8]

Eventually, Su She even sacrifices himself to save Jin Guangyao from Nie Mingjue's fierce corpse.[6]
